LCF DIARY ENTRY (DAY 2)
Day 2 First trade day:
7.30am: festival wristband acquired. This must be how Stormzy felt at Glastonbury.
8am: oat milk, cow juice and cups acquired. Assistance on the stand in the form of Callum has just arrived on time!

9am: 7th batch brew made; 20th failed joke made (to the dismay of our festival neighbours); and 1st espresso pulled.

9.30am: Callum has spoken so eloquently about Coborn Coffee for half an hour that I’m tempted to sign over the business to him.

10am: Strawbs seems to be going down well.
10.30am: Everyone is very well dressed. Slightly regretting this moustache and these football shorts. Think I look a little bit like a day release Charles Bronson.
11am: espresso grinder is efficient, silent AND activated by interaction with metal. Learnt this the hard way as we lost 1kg of coffee after a teaspoon made contact with the grinder unbeknown to us. Slyly cleared this away whilst pretending to be a coffee professional.

12pm: coffee friends came to say hi. Most of my body’s moisture has been sweated onto my top, but I hug them anyway. The real ones feel the wet embrace and hug me back despite this.
1pm: Callum should eat but refuses to leave the stand. He’s so dependable.
1.01pm: Callum leaves for lunch.

2pm: Wander around the festival hoping to spot Mel and Matt at Coffee Masters. Haven’t yet decided how I’ll disrupt them.

2.10pm: FAR TOO MANY PEOPLE, will return to Coffee Masters later.
3pm: think I’ve had some incredible conversations with some incredible coffee shop owners, baristas and roasters. As a reward I go to distract Mel & Matt (MnM).
3.05pm: can’t think of anything clever so I pulled faced and pretended to swear at MnM whilst they’re on stage. Neither one of them noticed. The families near me relocate.
4pm: Strawbs seems to be going down really well. Weird.

5.30pm: Nice to sit down for lunch
6pm: Cocktails followed by pints in the sun.
11pm: I’ve just watched a Simon Cowell impersonator hand a barista a trophy at the Oatly after party. Time to go home. Coffee is weird.
