Meet our friends Kat & Zain. On a morning plagued by building works and traffic, we eventually got to have a coffee, taste some dates and reflect on their achievement of getting to six whole years of Paradox Design.

Eternally busy sums up Bugra and Giz of Lodestar coffee. So when we tried to nail down a date to get together, the only time and place we could settle upon was Lodestar…after hours.

In a pub on the corner of Victoria Park, we sat down for a natter with our friend Siala ahead of her upcoming move to London. Leaving her Brighton community was not an easy choice but the opportunity to head up a coffee program in the capital is a hard offer to pass up. Naturally, coffee was a minuscule part of our conversation in the end.

Musings.

On a fairly sunny day in Mile End, we got the chance to natter with the cycling and coffee extraordinaire, Marta, about slowing down and taking care of her health. Chats about travel, tumours, therapy and living with an auto-immune disease spilled over into Mae and Harvey where we absolutely demolished eggs on toast!

Meet our friend Emmy. A ridiculously talented florist and creative, Emmy Bloom had the bright idea to create a Mother’s Day Flower Box with us.

On a sunny day in Mile End, we were treated to a first hand floristry workshop between Emmy and her son Noah. Below, Emmy talks us through obsession, juggling, floral style and the magic of receiving flowers.

In a greasy spoon a stone’s throw away from our roastery, we had a chance to natter with Pryandi, co-owner of Commons London. Over a fry up and a cup of builder’s tea, we got to fire our usual brand of incoherent questions at him and were thrilled with his responses.

In sub-zero conditions, Rosie popped into the roastery to allow us to take her pic and mine her with incoherent questions. Because she’s an all round gem, she agreed.
